ART FACTORY

“AFJ OPEN STUDIO” was launched in 2018 as an annual event
that opens to the public the studios of artists working at ART FACTORY Jonanjima,
while also presenting and introducing their works.

Now in its eighth edition, this year’s event brings together the largest number of participating artists to date.
In addition to open studios, exhibitions, and live art-making, the program features a wide range of related events,
including workshops, gallery tours, live music performances, and a special exhibition of art books.

The subtitle “FLUX” refers to a state of flow and continuous change.

As ART FACTORY Jonanjima prepares to temporarily close at the end of 2026 ahead of its renewal,
this year’s Open Studio brings together this important turning point in the facility’s history with the ever-
changing processes revealed through the artists’ practices.
With this in mind, we have chosen the “present”—a moment in the midst of change—as this year’s key theme.

We invite you to experience and enjoy the diverse world of artistic expression at AFJ OPEN STUDIO 2026.
