自然科学史と人間社会の関係性、生物の生態系に着目し、「生と死」「善と悪」「美と醜」などの二元性を通して、人間の本質を問い直す作品を制作しています。科学的に整合しているように見える体系の中にも、矛盾や微細なエラーが潜んでおり、そこに人間特有のエゴや執着、偏見といった感情が滲み出ると考えています。例えば、「在来種」と「外来種」といった生物分類の枠組みは、生態系を守るための実用的概念である一方で、社会における排他性や境界意識とも密接に重なります。こうした自然と人間の間に現れる曖昧な領域に着目し、それを視覚化することを試みています。

My work focuses on the relationship between the history of natural science and human society, with particular attention to biological ecosystems. Through dualities such as “life and death,” “good and evil,” and “beauty and ugliness,” I seek to reexamine the essence of human nature. Even within systems that appear scientifically coherent, I believe there lie contradictions and subtle errors, through which distinctly human emotions—such as ego, attachment, and prejudice—inevitably seep. For example, the framework of biological classification, such as “native species” and “invasive species,” functions as a practical concept for protecting ecosystems, yet it closely parallels forms of exclusivity and boundary consciousness in human society. By focusing on these ambiguous zones that emerge between nature and humanity, I aim to make them visible.
