Kouji OHNO

Kouji Ohno was born in Tokyo and currently lives and works between his studios in Tokyo and Amsterdam.

Important concepts in his artistic expression are “Reflections on existence” and “Views on life and death.” He considers and analyzes how these ideas relate to the world.

Therefore, after graduating from art university, he continued his research at a medical university on the relationship between anatomy and art.

From then to the present, he has been exploring the notion of “existence” as it has been examined across the world—not only through quantum theory and the theory of relativity, but also through ancient Eastern, Egyptian, and Greek philosophy.

His artworks and expressions are created when his thought experiments are integrated with site-specific cultures and histories.
