遠藤保子は「境界線」を描いている。
それは人が無意識にまとう衣であり、装いであり、時に孤独を映す鏡でもある。
彼女が着目するのは「共通風景の不在」だ。
同じ景色を眺めているようでいて、認識はそれぞれ異なり、完全に重なることはない。
その差異は避けられず、他者との出会いには小さなすれ違いが生じる。
遠藤は、その境界をまとう存在を描き、さらに衣が剥がれ落ちた先に現れる普遍的な姿をドクロとして表す。
死を意味するのではなく、むき出しの人間性や「見せたくない内面」を可視化する試みである。
こうして彼女は、共有できない風景とすれ違いの中にこそ、芸術の可能性を見いだしている。
Yasko Endo paints “boundaries.”
She sees them as garments we unconsciously wear disguise, protection, and sometimes mirrors of solitude.
At the core of her work is the “absence of a shared landscape.”
Even when people appear to look at the same scenery, their perceptions never fully align.
Such differences are unavoidable, and encounters with others bring inevitable misalignments.
Yasko depicts these boundary-wrapped figures, while also portraying what emerges when the garment falls away ; the skull as a symbol not of death, but of raw humanity and the hidden interior we hesitate to show.
For her, art’s potential lies precisely within the unshared landscapes and the subtle dissonances they create.
