GIL KUNO
ギル 久野
サウンドアーティスト、ミュージシャン、現代美術家。
アメリカ・ロサンゼルス出身。UCLAでメディアアートを専攻。オルタナアートサイト UNSOUND.COM、インターネットバンドWIGGLE、FLOW、Six String Sonics, The （ギター解体ユニット）など、活動は広く世界的に評価されている。
文化庁メディア芸術祭過去4回受賞、様々な国でのアートフェスティバルや国際映画祭、展示においては国立新美術館（東京）をはじめとするLA、ベルリン、ポーランドなど各主要美術館にて行ってきている。
Through careful social conditioning, the mind is guided to think within certain patterns. I try to redirect the flow of the mind outside of the set patterns we are taught by society to construct. In my work, I attempt to displace natural activity from its context, revealing an otherwise hidden level of metaphorical absurdity within the ordinary patterns present before our eyes.
The goal of sublimating everyday perception underlies many of the projects I have exhibited or performed. I aim to push people away from paradigmatic thinking through various themes and methodologies – aleatoric systems (chance operations,) exaggerated perception, derailed reality and re-envisioning experiences common within everyday life.
