私は人の顔をモチーフに、主に絵画を制作しています。
とても普遍的なモチーフである人の顔を描き続けているのは、人の顔が現代の社会において特に重要だと感じているからです。社会生活を円滑に過ごすために人は自分の顔を常に整え、自分の感情も余り外に出さ無い様にするのが美徳とされ、放送コードの様なものが張り付いていると感じる。その場によって使い分ける感覚は現代的ですが違和感を覚えます。顔の皮膚の裏に隠れたその人の魂の様な物はキラキラと美しいとは限らないが、私はそんな生っぽい物が見たいのです。
 

I mainly create paintings with the motif of human faces.

The reason why I continue to paint human faces is I feel that they are particularly important in today's society.

I feel that it is considered virtuous for people to always make their faces look better and not overly express their emotions in order to lead a social life smoothly and that this fact makes me feel like something like a broadcasting code is stuck. While the act of switching attitudes depending on the situation fits with the time, it makes me feel a sense of discomfort. Something like the soul of the person that hides behind the skin of the face is not always sparklingly beautiful, but I want to see something raw like it.
